Back to basics?

The interrogation was intentionally. I want to know if you have any kind of prejudice with the past. If the answer is negative, enjoy this post. If it's positive, wait for the next one.

Many looks are formed by the combination of the past and the present, and those are usually the most creative and cute. Well, it depends on your creativity, obviously. When it's about the 20's, some may think about frills and S-Bend corsets, but that would be terrible in modern days since we have modern clothes to destroy the idea of "old and outdated" that any antique garment might pass to us.

The high waisted skirt, besides giving shapes to the curves, gives a sophisticated appearance to the look. Very feminine, even to women who aren't feminine, ok. Not, do not think of wearing this skirt if you're not an elegant woman.

Does the polka blouse make you think about the 60's? Only because it's polka? Know that polka dots don't belong to the 60's. The blouse is from the 30's and it doesn't even look like. in the picture I chose, you can see that it perfectly combines with the skirt. If I were a woman, I would only wear clothes like that. Anyway, it's very charming.

The coat, well, the coat wouldn't look interesting with the last two garments and I shouldn't even be telling you that. If you are modern and loves to be different, the Vintage coat looks perfect with a pair of skinny jeans and a t-shirt with a real cute print. Can I wear with a printless t-shirt? Gosh, come on! Sure you can! Blend colors, don't be an ambulant fair tent and have fun in the creative process.

Who likes it

Christina Aguilera wen't back to basics definitively! She released an album dedicated to old music and obviously, to the singers that made it happen. And for that, the pattern couldn't stay completely modern. Promo shoots, booklet, videos, tour, EVERYTHING with influences from the 20's, 30's and 40's. In her personal life she showed her creativity as well, combining the past with the present.

Tyra Banks, basic and modern, combined two simple garments, and made the whole look, including the purse, very elegant. I only wish she had a fringe so her face wouldn't look so long.

Lady GaGa, incredibly simple in the picture, wears a skirt that probably made it hard for her to take long steps, but the important, for who sees it, is the visual and not how she feels, am I wrong?! I know I'm not. The singer has used other high waisted garments and seems to like it. The top (totally bold) gave more detach to the skirt and I must remark that I'm glad that the bag isn't red or martian green.

And now? What about having fun in both past and present at the same time?
